Transneft Druzhba Completes Planned Works on Trunk Pipelines

Transneft Druzhba has completed scheduled repairs at the Kuibyshev – Unecha-2 oil trunk pipeline (OTP) and the Kuibyshev – Bryansk and Voronezh – Belgorod petroleum products trunk pipelines (PPTPs) in the area of responsibility of the Kuibyshev, Penza and Michurinsk branches.

The Company’s specialists connected temporary pipeline clean-up and inspection gadget traps (PIG traps) to perform in-line inspection of a standby leg of the Kuibyshev – Bryansk PPTP’s underwater crossing of the Don River. Temporary PIG traps were disconnected at the Voronezh – Belgorod PPTP’s underwater crossing of the Voronezh River. A gate valve was repaired at the tank farm of Nikolskoye line operation dispatcher station (LODS). The repairs were carried out without changing the oil transportation mode.

Midlife repairs of stop valves were performed at Nikulino LODS during the suspension of petroleum products pumping at Kuibyshev PPTP. 24 narrowings were cut out to prepare the pipeline for in-line inspection.

The works were carried out during 160 hours in Samara, Ulyanovsk and Penza Regions. The purpose of the scheduled works was to increase the reliability of transportation of oil and petroleum products through the system of trunk pipelines.

Petroleum products transportation was resumed in accordance with the schedule. The pipelines are functioning under the normal protocol.
