Transneft Druzhba Saves 5.75 Million kWh for 9 Months of 2021

Date of publication: 13 October 2021

Transneft Druzhba has saved 5.75 million kWh of electrical energy for 9 months of 2021 as part of the implementation of energy saving and energy efficiency improvement programmes. In terms of oil equivalent, it is more than 623 tonnes.

The main savings were achieved by optimising the operation of mainline and booster pumps in the process of oil and petroleum products transportation.

To reduce electrical energy consumption for the company's needs, systematic work is carried out at its operating facilities to replace lighting fixtures with LED ones, including those with motion sensors. By the end of 2021, it is planned to install 2,200 energy-efficient light sources.

The technical upgrading of a boiler house was carried out at the Novozybkov oil pumping station (PS) in Bryansk Region. Modern economical boilers were installed with the COE that exceeds the previous units by 8–10%, as well as the boiler house automation, allowing to maintain the temperature schedule of the heating network without constant personnel involvement.

Block-modular boiler houses (BBHs) with a high level of energy efficiency were installed at the Priboy, Syzran-1 line operation dispatcher stations (LODSs) and the Lubna PS. The BBHs, developed by Transneft R&D and produced by the production and operations department of Transneft Druzhba, have efficiency of 94%.

The economic effect from the implementation of the energy-saving activities for the three quarters of 2021 amounted to about RUB 14.9 million
