Transneft Druzhba has inspected 5 thousand km of trunk pipelines and 17 tanks as part of a diagnostic programme for operating facilities of the Company for 2020.
The activities were conducted within six months. The goal is to determine the technical condition and timely detection of defects to improve reliability of transportation and storage of oil and petroleum products.
By passing PIGs of five modifications, specialists have examined 23 process sections of the Kuibyshev – Unecha – Mozyr-1 and Kuibyshev – Unecha-2 oil trunk pipelines (OTP), as well as 9 sections of the Ufa – West, Kuibyshev – Bryansk and Penza – Saransk petroleum products trunk pipelines (PPTP). Among them are underwater crossings of the trunk pipelines across the Volga, Sura, Chelnovaya and Polnoy Voronezh Rivers.
Based on the results of studies, plans for repair works will be made, if necessary.
The technical condition of 8 vertical steel tanks was also monitored at the 8-N, Nikolskoye-1 and Belgorod line operation dispatcher stations (LODS). Visual measuring, ultrasonic testing and geodesic studies were conducted. Operability of technological equipment was tested.
The first stage of complete technical diagnostics of 6 tanks was completed: VST on Belgorod and Klin LODS, vertical steel tanks with floating roof (VFRT) on the Priboy LODS and vertical steel tanks with floating roof on the Lopatino and Unecha LODS.
In addition, partial technical diagnostics of three VFRT without decommissioning was performed at the Belgorod, Syzran-1 and 8-N LODS.
According to the results of the technical inspection, all tanks received approvals of extension of their safe operation periods.
