Transneft Druzhba has released sterlet juveniles into Saratov Reservoir in the territory of the city of Samara in the area of responsibility of the Kuibyshev Regional Directorate.
More than 25 thousand juveniles were released into their natural habitat. The weight of each was about 5 grams.
The sturgeon juveniles were raised by a fish-breeding company and delivered to the place of their release by specialised vehicles. The environmental event was supervised by specialists of the Middle Volga Territorial Directorate of the Federal Agency for Fishery (Rosrybolovstvo), that confirmed the satisfactory condition of the biological resources.
Before the end of the year, Transneft Druzhba plans to release more than 24 thousand of sterlet juveniles and common carp into Saratov Reservoir.
The environmental compensatory event on artificial reproduction of aquatic biological resources was held under the corporate programme for biological diversity preservation in the areas of Transneft facilities’ operation for 2019–2021.
