Transneft Druzhba completes scheduled repairs at oil trunk pipeline

Transneft Druzhba has completed scheduled repairs at the Kuibyshev – Unecha-2 oil trunk pipeline (OTP). Pump units were replaced and defects were eliminated, midlife repairs of stop valves were performed to maintain the pipeline’s high reliability.

During a scheduled shutdown, professionals connected four newly constructed OTP sections with the total length of 13 km.

They performed midlife repairs of 5 gate valves at Malinovka-2 oil pumping station (PS), 3 gate valves of the oil quantity and quality metering system (OQQMS) at Unecha line operation dispatcher station, a gate valve at a PIG trap of Rostovka PS and 3 gate valves at the pipeline. Besides, they performed midlife repairs of two return valves at Lubna-2 PS.

At Stanovaya-2 PS a main pump unit (MPU) was shut down to be replaced, a MPU was dismantled at Novozybkov-2 PS, new pump units were connected at Rostovka and Klin-2 PSs.

It took 72 hours of round-the-clock work to complete the repairs, which covered Bryansk, Orel, Lipetsk, Tambov, Penza and Ulyanovsk Regions within the scope of the integrated technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul programme of Transneft Druzhba. Participating were employees of Bryansk, Michurinsk, Penza and Kuibyshev regional directorates (RDs).

Oil transportation via the Kuibyshev – Unecha-2 OTP has been resumed in the normal mode as scheduled.
